For the purpose of effective implementation of its statutory responsibilities and activities, the Insurance Supervision Agency (ASO) is continuously investing in strengthening human resources through establishment and implementation of a system for continuous education and professional development of its employees. As part of activities to develop these resources agency conducts regular training in the country and abroad.

In the period between 4 and 5 November 2013, at the headquarters of ASO, Dutch National Bank (De Nederlandsche Bank-DNB) experts implemented a training session to transfer knowledge and experience of Dutch supervisors for the implementation of supervision over insured entities. This training was the last one from a package provided by DNB held under the Technical assistance project between ASO and DNB.


Within the project two training courses were organized for the ASO employees. The first training was related to the implementation of off-site supervision and was held in the period between 22 to 23 July 2013, at the DNB headquarters in Amsterdam, Netherlands. During the training, DNB experts presented the way they perform off-site supervisions. And on 16 - 17 September 2013 in the ASO headquarters training on methods and procedures for implementation of risk-based supervision was organized.

Through cooperation with DNB Netherlands, ASO supervisors have gained knowledge and experience which will further help in promoting and improving the way of carrying out the supervision of insurance entities in the Republic of Macedonia.
